Day 2- The beauties of having a free personal tour guide!

I understand that really...blogging about the honeymoon is pretty much only for me. probably super boring, BUT it's nice to have a pic journal for the kids. ha ha Here's another fun filled day in Maui.
We got up early...and I mean EARLY because we are having a bit of jet lagg, we go to sleep at maui time, but wake up in Montana time....which ends up meaning we go to sleep at 11 and wake up at 4:30am. Ugh. So we went to one of the many local flea markets to find james a ring. You see... Because I procrastonated ordering his ring, it made it to Utah on monday...3 days after the wedding. the ring he used at the temple and at the reception was his great-grandpa's...and it was too big. So we figured we'd get him a inexpensive ring to wear until we get back to the mainland. It's a traditonal Hawiian wedding band. You see SO many people here wearing them, and we thought it would be cool to have.

Then we headed to our condos beach-

WE were trying so hard to keep our eyes open and we couldn't stop laughing!

After the beach, my handsom tour guide took me to the Iao Needle park. SO SO pretty!

The needle

For educational purposes....here's the discription of the needle

AWKWARD!

These beautiful purple trees are all over up country. This picture doesn't do it justice. They are HUGE and canopy the road in a lot of places. It almost looks like enourmous Lilac bushes. I love them!

James then took me to see the 1st LDS churcdch building on the island. It's kind of just a museum now. It's beautiful and the accoustics in there are amazing! You can feel the spirit as soon as you walk on the property. It was great!

The house off to the right is where the missionaries live.

James told me that in George Q. Cannon's journals he says that he walked with the savior in int hills behind this property...

We ended the day having dinner with a family of James' friends. A great end to another fun day.
